High‐Temperature Laser‐Assisted Synthesis of Boron Nanorods, Nanowires, and Bamboo‐Like Nanotubes

A double‐pulsed laser ablation (DPLA) method has been used to synthesize crystalline boron nanorods (BNRs), nanowires (BNWs), and bamboo‐like nanotubes (BBNTs) from bulk (BKB). q‐switched Nd: YAG operating at the first second harmonic wavelengths with 1064 532 nm is ablate a solid composite target doped 1% Ni Co in tube furnace flowing argon gas. Boron nanostructures form of BNRs, BNWs, BBNTs are condensed hot laser‐induced plasma plume temperatures 800, 900, 1000 °C. The morphology chemical optical nature identified X‐ray diffraction, electron microscopy, energy‐dispersive spectroscopy, Raman, UV–vis, photoluminescence (PL) spectroscopies. results confirm crystallinity phase purity boron‐nanomaterials that they preferentially grown c‐axis direction α‐boron. as‐synthesized observed have lengths 0.2–1.5 μm widths between 10 100 nm, show respective PL resonance emission peaks 330, 331, 333 electrical conductivities 312, 313, 324 S cm −1 room temperature which higher than conductivity BKB.
